RTF Export Component

The RTF Export Component supports the export of a styled RTF rendition of an edition, glossary, translation or chāyā.    The application of paragraph and character styles provides granular control over RTF formatting.  The rendition may be imported into a desktop publishing environment for layout and formatting in preparation for formal publishing.  The RTF Export Component encompasses the following constituent features:

  • Edition Publishing
  • Glossary Publishing
  • Translation Publishing
  • Chāyā Publishing

The capability to export to RTF is provided in the View Tools feature of the Edition VE, Glossary VE, Translation V or Chāyā V.

Edition Publishing Feature

The Edition Publishing feature supports the export of transliteration from the Edition VE to a styled RTF format for either hybrid, diplomatic or reconstructed renditions.  Each rendition includes related footnotes.  The hybrid version includes general, transcription and reconstructed footnotes, the reconstructed rendition includes general and reconstructed footnotes whilst the diplomatic rendition includes only transcription footnotes.

Glossary Publishing Feature

The Glossary Publishing feature supports the export of edition glossary from the Glossary VE to a styled RTF format.  Minor formatting modifications are applied to the glossary upon export.

Translation Publishing Feature

The Translation Publishing feature supports the export of the edition translation from the Translation V to a styled RTF format.  The translation exported reflects the structural characteristics of the text; e.g. the chapter, paragraph or sentence sequences to which translation annotations were applied.

Chāyā Publishing Feature

The Chāyā Publishing feature supports the export of the edition chāyā from the Chāyā V to a styled RTF format.  The chāyā exported reflects the structural characteristics of the text; e.g. the chapter, paragraph or sentence sequences to which chāyā annotations were applied.
