The READ platform is based on a relational database with constraints and triggers and server-side libraries for storage abstraction. Ajax services are utilized for import, export, index, query and data management, and a JavaScript user interface.
The technology stack includes mainstream open source technologies: PostgreSQL as database repository, backend development in PHP and user interface UI development using JQuery frameworks and supports TEI P5 XML for integration with TEI-based workflows.
